Vicky & Tim's Wedding at Ston Easton Park

My first wedding of 2008...and what a way to start! Vicky and Tim got married in Weymouth and wanted to go down to the beach to do some photographs. So on came the wellies and out came William the dog - who was an absolute star! Well apart from the near accident on Vicky's beautiful dress!

The weather was fantastic for us - cold but sunny - and you wouldn't know from the pictures that these were taken in the middle of January that's for sure.

After the photo session it was off to Ston Easton Park for their reception. We got there with just enough time to get some photographs of the two of them outside before it got dark. And they got to enjoy their relaxed drinks reception in cosy comfort.

Congratulations guys!

Vicky put on her dress in front of this fantastic mirror - it was huge!

Tim and the guys looking cool...

Vicky's mum and sister arriving at the church...

The exchange of the rings...

Down on the beach with William - look at that fabulous blue sky!

A nice relaxed portrait back at Ston Easton Park...

Vicky had little potted flowers on each table as favours for the ladies. This doubled up as the floral display for the table and also was the theme of the table!

Vicky & Tim's photo guest book proved popular and enticed everyone to leave lots of messages...

The End! I can't wait to meet up with Vicky and Tim and show them the rest of their pictures.

Real Life Wedding Feature - Sarah & Phil

I'm really pleased for my June couple Sarah and Phil who have had their wedding featured in Wedding Ideas magazine's current issue. Check out page 172 to read all about their day and to see some of their photographs. Sarah was in tears when she found out that her wedding was going to appear in the magazine as it had been her bible throughout her planning!

2007 Favourites: Elizabeth & Lee

Instead of a MY favourites of 2007 blog post I’ve decided to ask my wedding couples to pick THEIR favourite image and explain why. So here is another 2007 favourite – Elizabeth and Lee who got married on 14th September. It wasn't an easy decision for them to make but in the end they chose this image and here's why:

“When we saw your display at a wedding exhibition, we could tell that you had a special talent and from the moment we met you and found out that you were available our minds were instantly put at ease knowing we were in safe hands. We think it is amazing how you managed to catch the most intimate moments without once making us feel like we were in a goldfish bowl. We love the way you managed to capture the feelings and emotion of the whole day. Your images and personality always bring a smile to our faces and we are truly grateful for your input to our day!”

2007 Favourites: Gillian & Robin

Instead of a MY favourites of 2007 blog post I’ve decided to ask my wedding couples to pick THEIR favourite image and explain why. So here is another 2007 favourite – Gillian and Robin who got married on 21st July. Here’s what they had to say about their favourite image:

“We've been through the photos again and have agreed that this is our favourite image - where we are in a woodland setting in between two car parks! We love the way the image captures the feel of the day, with a simple natural setting. All the photos from the day were amazing. We constantly look back over them to remind us of our special day and all the exciting and varied things that happened, including the trampolining in our wedding outfits!”

2007 Favourites: Sarah & Phil

Instead of a MY favourites of 2007 blog post I’ve decided to ask my wedding couples to pick THEIR favourite image and explain why. So here is another 2007 favourite – Sarah and Phil who got married on 15th June. Here’s what they had to say about their favourite image:

“One of our favourite wedding pictures (because we have many) is this image. We can still remember how happy we felt to be married, and that we were finally enjoying our day. After the heavens opened in the morning the sun had come out and we had blue skies giving us the opportunity to get down on the beach for some fantastic shots - this is one of them!!! A really natural picture!”

2007 Favourites: Shaney & John

Instead of a MY favourites of 2007 blog post I’ve decided to ask my wedding couples to pick THEIR favourite image and explain why. So here is another 2007 favourite – Shaney and John who got married on 6th October. Here’s what they had to say about their favourite image:

“We love this image because we often spend weekends going for walks in Ashton Court and this is why we wanted to get married there. This photo just captures all of the memories, not only of the wedding day itself, but of all the lovely times we have had in Ashton Court. We also loved the composition of the shot and the way we were off centre which gave you the perspective of the tree-lined avenue. We much prefer the unposed shots to the posed ones!”

2007 Favourites: Emily & Simon

Instead of a MY favourites of 2007 blog post I’ve decided to ask my wedding couples to pick THEIR favourite image and explain why. So here is another 2007 favourite – Emily and Simon who got married on 28th July. Here’s what Emily had to say about their favourite image:

“I love this picture because it is the beginning of the day and they all look excited if not a little nervous! I love the fact that it is an action shot where the memories of walking up to the church full of apprehension with always be remembered. I think this is a timeless photo that shows Simon with his family and close friends at the start of a brilliant day.”

2007 Favourites: Nicola & Wayne

Instead of a MY favourites of 2007 blog post I’ve decided to ask my wedding couples to pick THEIR favourite image and explain why. So here is another 2007 favourite – Nicola and Wayne who got married on 10th August. They had to go through them all several times before they could agree on one, but they finally settled on this image. Here’s why:

“With all the craziness of the day, meeting and chatting with family and friends, we felt like we didn't really get to see much of each other. This photo is a glimpse of us enjoying a special moment together. It was the first point of the day where we could breathe a sigh of relief that everything had gone perfectly to plan.'”

2007 Favourites: Sian & Matthew

Instead of a MY favourites of 2007 blog post I’ve decided to ask my wedding couples to pick THEIR favourite image and explain why. So here is another 2007 favourite – Sian and Matthew who got married on 4th August. Here’s what they had to say about their favourite image:

“Our favourite picture is this one. For us, it perfectly captures the moment when we realised that we are together. All the nerves have faded away and it was a quiet moment where we could look back and see everyone else, and reflect on what has just happened. We have never been happier than at that moment. It's an unbelievable picture that captures the day perfectly.”

2007 Favourites: Laura & Nick

Instead of a MY favourites of 2007 blog post I’ve decided to ask my wedding couples to pick THEIR favourite image and explain why. So here is another 2007 favourite – Laura and Nick who got married on 25th August. Here’s what they had to say about their favourite image:

“Caroline has immortalised so many wonderful memories from our day, but we treasure this one in particular. She has somehow captured an obviously spontaneous and tender shared moment in the church service. We are lucky to have countless lovely shots of us actually facing the camera, but there seems to be something more evocative about the way in which we have been caught 'off guard'.”

2007 Favourites: Wendy & Mark

Instead of a MY favourites of 2007 blog post I’ve decided to ask my wedding couples to pick THEIR favourite image and explain why. So here is another 2007 favourite – Wendy and Mark who got married on 10th April. Here’s what Mark had to say about their favourite image:

"This felt like an impossible task...how could we choose just one! Everything about the day was just so special, the venue, the guests and even the photographer. We have chosen this image because we feel it sums up the day - everyone happy, smiling and obviously having fun.”

2007 Favourites: Liz & Jason

Instead of a MY favourites of 2007 blog post I’ve decided to ask my wedding couples to pick THEIR favourite image and explain why. So here is another 2007 favourite – Liz and Jason who got married on 2nd December. Here’s what Liz had to say about their favourite image:

“This image is special to me because my dad died six months before our wedding and this picture incorporates his memory into our special day.”

2007 Favourites: Sarah & Dave

Instead of a MY favourites of 2007 blog post I’ve decided to ask my wedding couples to pick THEIR favourite image and explain why. So here is another 2007 favourite – Sarah and Dave who got married on 12th June. Here’s what Dave had to say about their favourite image:

“Choosing just one was difficult but I think it's the black and white one of Sarah and Jordan kissing on the steps. This picture really moved me when I saw it, I couldn't believe how beautiful they both looked and how lucky I am to have such a wonderful family. I think you really captured the closeness of their relationship. It really is a beautiful shot!”

2007 Favourites: Emily & Fish

Instead of a MY favourites of 2007 blog post I’ve decided to ask my wedding couples to pick THEIR favourite image and explain why. So here is another 2007 favourite – Emily and Fish (Andrew!) who got married on 15th September. After pondering over their photos for two days here’s what Emily had to say about their favourite image:

“It's so difficult to pick just one photo when they all mean so much for different reasons. This photo is so lovely because it was taken after all the hubbub of the ceremony and group photos and it was the first time Fish and I had sat down together and taken in the occasion. I think we were still a bit dumbstruck!! I also love it because you can just see all our guests in the background, we look detached for a few minutes, spending a quiet moment with each other.”

2007 Favourites: Lucy & Gareth

Instead of a MY favourites of 2007 blog post I’ve decided to ask my wedding couples to pick THEIR favourite image and explain why. So here is another 2007 favourite – Lucy and Gareth who got married on 22nd September. Lucy couldn't write much as Spooky their new pet rabbit had just chewed through the power cable for the laptop! But here's why they like this photograph the best:

“Although we love all our wedding photos, our favourite photo from the wedding is the black and white shot of us kissing under the archway. It's such a gorgeous shot, really eye catching. The fact that it's of us makes it even better! It was the first of our prints to be framed so that we could show it off to friends and family and has pride of place in our living room.”

2007 Favourites: Gaby & Matt

Instead of a MY favourites of 2007 blog post I’ve decided to ask my wedding couples to pick THEIR favourite image and explain why. So here is another 2007 favourite – Gaby and Matt who got married on 17th August. They had a hard time picking their favourite photograph but finally settled on this one...and here's why:

“We like this photo particularly because it shows the full length of my dress. It also captures the full grandeur of Ston Easton Park, whilst we were enjoying a quiet moment of reflection of the ceremony and the day itself. One of the best things about the day was that we took time to have those quiet moments as it was easy to be swept along. This photo means a lot to use as it captures one such moment. The style of the photo seems to be timeless it could have been taken yesterday or half a century ago.”

2007 Favourites: Louise & Richard

Instead of a MY favourites of 2007 blog post I’ve decided to ask my wedding couples to pick THEIR favourite image and explain why. So here is another 2007 favourite – Louise and Richard who got married on 29th September. Here’s what Louise had to say about their favourite image:

“I love this photo as we both look happy and relaxed and rather relieved to have the most nerve-racking part of the day behind us. I am holding what was for me the first glass of champagne of the day although my husband had started on the champagne a few hours earlier! This photo among others serves as a fantastic memory of a wonderful day which passed in such a blur... Thank you Caroline!”

2007 Favourites: Katherine & James

Instead of a MY favourites of 2007 blog post I’ve decided to ask my wedding couples to pick THEIR favourite image and explain why. So here is another 2007 favourite – Katherine and James who got married on 14th July. Here is Katherine explaining about their favourite image:

“It’s hard to pick a favourite, but of all of them ours is the black and white shot of us holding hands and arriving at the reception under the archway to my parents’ garden. For me, it captures the whole feeling of the day, as although it’s a wedding photo its more a beautiful picture of us looking relaxed and very, very happy!

After the service, we had 5 minutes on our own driving back from the wedding to the reception, and I remember arriving and being so happy that we were joining our family and friends.... and that the sun was out!”

2007 Favourites: Glenys & David

HAPPY NEW YEAR!!!

I thought it would be nice to look back at some of the weddings I had the pleasure of photographing during 2007 and pick some favourite images to blog about. Then I realised that after each wedding I've already been doing just that - showing you some of MY favourite images from the day. So I thought it would be nice to let my 2007 wedding couples pick THEIR favourite image and explain why it meant so much to them!

So here is the first of my 2007 favourites - Glenys & David who got married on 18th August. This is what Glenys had to say about their favourite picture:

"We have many favourites but I know the one we both like best is the colour shot of the two of us when David came to collect me from Nightingale Room - we are both smiling and looking not just relieved, but happy and really quite relaxed, all things considered!

I think it's our favourite because it's the first time that we had seen each other that day - and we had both had a testing morning and were feeling stressed - but as soon as we saw each other all the stresses just melted away and we knew we were going to have the most fantastic time with our friends and family, celebrating our love."

Keep checking back for more of my 2007 couples favourite images!
